Snowed In by chibiBiscuit Snowed In by chibiBiscuit
Hi folks! Today I've got a little submission for the contest currently going on at The-Rabbits-House, which if you don't know, is a recently started group celebrating the topic of big growth in an itty-bitty space. Which is awesome. It's been snowing pretty constantly here, and we've had pretty much nothing to do besides lay around the house. In Takai's case, quite literally.

The contest (linked below) was to create a growth image inside a 3"x3" area, or for those working traditionally, a post-it-note. Unfortunately, I wasn't up to the task of doing a sequence, just because there's so many things I want to draw right now, but I'm really happy with how this came out, even as a single image. I feel like because I worked in 300 DPI, which is my standard print resolution, that this was maybe easier than it should have been... Maybe? Probably.

Let's start off with a contest!Hey guys and gals,
Thank you everyone for joining this group! As an indoor/ alice growth group, we'd like to participate in creating more artwork of this variety.
That said, I was curious to see how many people would be willing to participate in a contest?
This first one would be rather small, in theme and in scope. The theme of this contest is post-it notes
POST-IT NOTE CHALLEGE
Each contestant must draw a growth scene within a 3x3 panel, either traditionally or digitally. It must be a 3x3 panel or post-it note.
Each contestant can submit an image or a several post-it note sequence but they can only make one submission. People who make more than one submission must either choose which drawing or sequence they wish to enter or be disqualified.
1st place gets a fully colored icon made by me
2nd place is 300 DA points
3rd place is a pat on the back
This is really just to see how many people participate. If there's a big enough turnout, I'll make better themed contests with bigger prizes

Anyhow! I hope everyone's having a good time! I need to wrap this up, or Takai's going to get a leg cramp. Happy Monday!

I just love your style
you can express so much emotion
it has a bit of anime but it separates from what everyone else is doing

I started out being heavily influenced by anime... Throughout high school and college, that's where I took a lot of my inspiration from... As I got more experience, I started straying away from it into a style that suited me better. :D I'm so glad you like it!

Your very welcome
i never really made it into anime because every artist does the same thing
but studying it can help your own style

Yep - taking inspiration from things you like is normal and acceptable, but my art teacher in college told me that style was something you have to develop on your own, you can't find it in a book. :D

Isn't she usually able to control her growth?

Not so much, the thing that trigger's Takai's growth is contact with water. Usually she can keep herself dry enough to stay in control, but sometimes it gets out of hand. ^^;

I fondly remember you suggesting indoor growth should be a certified sub-genre in its own right.  This is a very fine argument in favour of that!

And thanks for bringing The Rabbit's House to my attention.  I'm delighted to learn such a place exists. :-)

I honestly think it should be... It's such a specific corner of the GTS genre, and I really believe the only reason it isn't a sub-genre yet is because there's no easy term to refer to it by. :D

And no problem, I'm glad I was able to spread the word. ^___^

THat is some fantastic work here! Poor Takai, she looks so scrunched up...!

And as you said, if she keeps up that growth, it'll be quiet uncomfortable for the both of you!

It's not really about competition, it's about contribution and getting people involved! I don't really mind if I don't win, I just want to see more of this theme, and I want this group to take off. :D

Thank you! And yeah, she's getting a little sore from holding that pose... And just when I thought the snow would melt and we were going to get back to decent above-freezing temperatures, we get more.

We'd better hope Takai can hold out.... And that the apartment can hold together!

It'd probably take more than a drop, buuuut... It's tight enough as it is in here, a slow drip would mean her filling up what space we have left and eventually... Boom, no more ceiling. XD

I'd be worried about you moreso, its freezing cold out there and I wouldn't want you ending up a flattened snowman.  xD
